All of our vegetables, herbs and spices are grown in the field, ripened in the sun, and harvested in season when they taste best. We use real Spanish capsicums from the sun-drenched fields of Murcia and our grower has been one of Spain’s top quality suppliers of paprika for more than 130 years. We are proud to say that they have now signed up to Continental’s Sustainable Agricultural initiative.
We believe that when the soil is treated with respect, a great tasting crop is bound to follow. That’s why we’ve started to partner with our farmers to achieve sustainably grown crops; it is all about quality and delivering the best flavour to your dish.
In close relationship with farmers we improve knowledge and equipment and help them move to sustainable agriculture. As part of this program, farmers are trained on sustainable growing practices, and we carefully monitor progress like soil richness, water usage and improving the environment that surrounds our farms. All of our chefs and farmers are committed to the best ingredients for our products, because great tasting food matters to us all. Our proudest ambition is to ensure that all of our ingredients - vegetables, meat, herbs and spices - come from sustainable sources by 2020.
