  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1.2 kg beef or pork ribs
  • 1 chorizo, chopped
  • 1 bacon rasher, chopped
  • 1 packet Continental Recipe Base Chilli Con Carne
  • 4 cups (1 litre) water
  • 2 carrots, thickly sliced
  • 2 celery sticks thickly sliced
  • 1 x 400 g canned black beans, drained and rinsed
  • ¼ cup chopped coriander or parsley to garnish

Brazilian Feijoada
  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan and brown ribs, chorizo and bacon.

  2. Add Recipe Base, water, carrots and celery and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until meat is tender.

  3. Remove lid and simmer uncovered for a further 30 minutes until sauce has thickened. Stir through beans and heat through.
