    Serves

  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 8 beef sausages
  • 1 onion, halved and thinly sliced
  • 1 packet Continental Recipe Base Curried Sausages
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1¼ cups water
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 115 g packet Continental Deb Instant Mashed Potato
  • 1 cup (250mL) hot milk
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, to taste
  • 2 cups frozen peas, cooked

  1. Heat oil in a large frying pan. Cook sausages until browned, remove from pan. Add onion to pan and cook, stirring for 8 minutes or until golden brown.

  2. Combine Recipe Base with water and tomato sauce in a jug. Pour over onion. Add carrots and stir until boiling.

  3. Return sausages to the pan. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until sausages are cooked and sauce has thickened.

  4. Meanwhile combine Deb instant mash mix, boiling water, hot milk and butter in a large heatproof bowl. Using a fork, stir until combined. Allow to stand for 30 seconds, then stir again. Serve with sausages and peas.
