Steak Sandwiches with Balsamic Onions

Beef steak basted in Continental beef stock and seared on the BBQ, served with browned onions and tomato chutney, all sandwiched between two slices of toast.

  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 4 x minute steaks
  • 1 Continental Stock Pot Sensations Beef Stock Pot
  • 8 slices crusty bread, lightly toasted
  • 100 g lettuce leaves
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • ½ cup tomato chutney

  1. Heat oil in a frying pan and brown onions. Add sugar and balsamic vinegar and cook for a further 2 minutes until slightly caramelised.

  2. Spread each steak with Stock Pot and barbecue or grill.

  3. Place lettuce and tomato onto toasted bread, top with steak, onions and tomato chutney.
