    Serves

  • 500 g beef mince
  • 1 medium carrot, finely grated
  • 1 medium zucchini, finely grated
  • 1 x 40 g sachet Continental Soup French Onion
  • 1 1/3 cups dried breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoon jarred crushed garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 3 sheets frozen ready rolled puff pastry
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • milk, for brushing
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • tomato sauce, to serve

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (200°C fan-forced). Line a large baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Combine mince, carrot, zucchini, soup mix, breadcrumbs, tomato paste, garlic and egg in a bowl until evenly mixed and has a paste-like consistency. Season with pepper.

  3. Cut pastry sheets in half. Place one-sixth of the beef mixture along the long edge of a pastry piece and form mince into log. Roll pastry over to enclose the filling. Cut each roll into thirds. Place rolls, seam side down, onto prepared tray. Brush sausage rolls with milk. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until puffed and golden brown. Serve with tomato sauce.
